You use the newer version of MSN
messenger—version 7.5, but the older
(version 4.7) which came pre-installed with
Windows XP, also exists. How do you uninstall
the older version?
=>To install the older version of MSN
Messenger, Click on start and then click on
Run. Then type the following into the open
run box:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
%windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
You will get a prompt asking you to exit
the old MSN messenger from the system
tray in case you’re running it. Close all
other programs that display the contact
list, for example, Outlook, Outlook Express,
MSN explorer and make sure you close all
programs for all users who have signed in
to the computer. In the end, you will get a
prompt saying that it has been uninstalled
